‘Riders in the Sky’ tonight at Crosby Theatre

first_img “Riders in the Sky” will come galloping into Troy tonight and, when they leave, they will have rounded up a “herd” of new fans.“Riders in the Sky,” America’s favorite cowboys, will be in concert at 7 o’clock tonight at the Claudia Crosby Theater. Tickets are $20 and $5 for students and will be available at the door.John Jinright, TAC presenter chair, said that “Riders” are carrying the torch passed on by Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Remember America’s heroes on Memorial Day “And, what are the odds of a theoretical plasma physicist, a wildlife manager, a shot putter and a member of the Polka Hall of Fame forming a band and becoming ‘America’s Favorite Cowboys?” Jinright said.“‘Riders are stellar vocalists and instrumental virtuosos who have recorded more than 30 albums.They have provided more than three decades of the finest in Western entertainment as international touring artists. “Riders in the Sky” are have gained additional fame as the “cowboys” in the Yella Wood commercials.“They are a talented and fun group of ‘cowboys,” Jinright said. “”W are excited to have ‘Riders’ perform in Troy.
